I need to replace the shift cables in my 1994 Pontiac Sunbird LE convertible. It's a manual (Muncie) transmission. The original part numbers are 22578975 and 22578976 (GM service guy confirmed these are the ones needed).
I picked up the first one from Rock Auto.
I've not been able to figure out which one the 2nd one should be. The part number is not found anywhere (except GM Parts Giants which says discontinued). I can't find a picture of it in order to match it with the Rock Auto parts. The mechanic that looked at my car wasn't able to tell me what it looked like either (I know, I know...I'm not going back there again).
I'm in a spot where I need to move my car from storage asap. It will have to be towed since the shifter is now not working. But I only want to move it once (to the the mechanic) but I also need to get the part to go with it.
Can anyone send me a picture of that cable (22578976)? Or tell me what one it would be from RockAuto (or another source?)
FYI... I'm in Canada if that helps.
